Oregon HUT


For the commercial vehicle(s) travel in the state of Oregon and which have registered gross weight or actual gross weight of 26,001 lbs or greater then Oregon HUT permit is required to travel into or through Oregon. Unlike the rest of the US States or Canadian Provinces, Oregon does not belong to the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA Program). So fuel tax is exempted but it is required to file Oregon Highway Use tax.

When to File Oregon HUT


Motor carrier can file Oregon Highway Use tax monthly or quarterly basis before last date to avoid any penalty or fines imposed by the Oregon State tax department. Usually due date is after end of each quarter (for Quarterly filling)

 

  • January - March: Due Date April 30
  • April - June: Due Date July 31
  • July - September: Due Date October 31
  • October - December: Due Date January 31

 

Note: If your vehicles travel very often into the State of Oregon then you can take temporary permit but If your vehicles travel very frequently into the State of Oregon then you must have to take annual permit for Oregon Highway Use tax otherwise heavy fine is imposed on the carriers which do not have permit to enter in the State of Oregon
